Roland SH-09 synthesiser.
This is a very simple one-oscillator monosynth, a bit like a cut down SH-1 or SH-2, it only has one envelope, it's not very flexible. But it has a nice tone, you can always get a usable sound out of it, it's great for old-school house basslines, filter resonance chirps, squarewave leads and lots of other stuff. There's an input for external sounds so I often add an oscillator from another synth to fatten up the sound, or you can plug the headphone output into the input for some nice filter feedback effects like people used to do on Minimoogs. There's also a sub-octave on the oscillator for some extra bass, and an envelope follower on the audio input so you can use it as a huge T-Wah pedal.
It's a great workhorse synth, cost me £150 in the early 90s and the bloke even drove it round to my house.
