Lexicon MPX1 multi-effects processor.
I bought this after my LXP-15 gave up the ghost. When this came out it was the first time a top-quality Lexicon reverb was available at an affordable price. When you are used to Quadraverbs and SE50s, it really sounds good, and there are lots of other effects in it too. It's quite deep if you get into programming, you can make reverbs that change depending on the volume of the input signal, or delays with feedback controlled by an LFO and so on, and it can morph between two effects and sync to MIDI and do lots of other good things. You can also enter delay times by tapping a button on the fron panel which is really handy and saves getting the calculator out. But mostly I use it as a nice clean reverb, it's so much less hissy than the LXP15 was.
EXAMPLE SOUNDS
These sounds are examples of the MPX1 processing sounds from the K2000 and SH-09 in different ways.
MPX01 - SH-09 through a preset called MPX Blue.
MPX02 - TR-808 samples with the snare going through a short delay with an LFO modulating the feedback amount.
MPX03 - TR-808 samples with the snare going through a flanged reverb.
MPX04 - TR-808 samples with the snare going through a heavily processed reverb..
MPX05 - SH-09 firstly dry, then through a stereo detune setting.
MPX06 - K2000 electric piano firstly dry, then through a pitch shift and reverb setting.
